Climbing the Mountains

Another Unreal Engine and Houdini combination. Tried to export all kind of assets from Houdini to Unreal using VATs and Alembic. VATs are not bad but still gives me way too many headaches. Alembic workflow is slow and requires too much RAM but works quite well and easy. The environment was done using Manticorp 16/32 Bit Heightmap Generator. You take any piece of land on the map and it gives you all the heigh information. I brought that into Unreal and with smart materials turned it into an amazing rocky environment. Added rocks and plants/trees with Quixel Megascans. Since I made the environment in Unreal there also was some back and forth for proper collisions, so had to export the environment from Unreal to Houdini and do the collisions.

Car rig, dust VDBs and the rocks/pebbles/dirt flying or bouncing around done in Houdini. Added some minor color correction, vignette effects in Black Magic Fusion.
